The Commission is mandated to develop a program of public information and education in the field of human rights to forward the principle that every person is free and equal in dignity and rights without regard to age, colour, creed, disability, ethnic or national origin, family status, gender expression, gender identity, marital status, political belief, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or source of income.
The Commission collaborates with the PEI Department of Education Early Learning and Culture, UPEI Faculty of Education and the PEI Teachers Federation to promote the Human Rights Act as a valuable and versatile teaching tool. See the Resources for Teachers link below for more information.
