Jean McCardle was appointed to the Commission on December 3, 2020. Jean recently retired and returned back “home” to PEI. Having lived in the Ottawa area and overseas for a number of years, Jean is now happy to call Victoria-by-the-Sea home. Originally from Middleton, PEI, Jean holds a BBA from UPEI and a MSc from the University of Guelph.
Jean worked with the Canadian International Development Agency, and more recently Global Affairs Canada for the majority of her career. She recently held positions as Canada’s Deputy Director to the Caribbean Development Bank and as development advisor to the senior Canadian civilian representative to Kandahar.
Commissioner McCardle is an active member of the council for the Rural Municipality of Victoria and is involved in other community organizations on PEI.
